Welcome to the Saskatoon Stamp Club

The primary purpose of this website is to provide a source of information for our members, meetings times and places, club special events and some links to other sites with philatelic contect of potential interest.

The secondary purpose is to tell the story of the early days of the Saskatoon postal service, not only for our own members, but for the wider community who wish a glimpse of the beginnings in this part of our province of Saskatchewan.

The first Saskatoon Stamp Club dissolved in the 1940's. In the fall of 1963, there was a notice in the Saskatoon Star Phoenix asking stamp collectors to meet at the University of Saskatchewan. Approximately thirty collectors attended the first meeting. This took place on 06 February 1964 in the PFRA building on campus. This was the beginning of the new Saskatoon Stamp Club. Many meetings followed at the JS Wood Library and later moved to the Field House. The Saskatoon Stamp Club is Chapter 80 of the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada.
